It’s a new year, a new chance for life to happen.
It’s not about making unrealistic resolutions that I have no intentions of keeping; it’s about asking what I want 2018 to be, what I want from this new year.
2017 was a big year, I achieved a lot, I learned so much. 2018 is going to be so much more. I’m sitting here working on spreadsheets and lists.
A personal spending budget, business spending.
A spreadsheet for my health. PCOS dictates I make changes if I want to feel better and achieve more. Being a Mum dictates I need to be fitter and healthier my sake and for my son. 2018 means I can’t keep making excuses.
Lists of my writing goals. What am I going to write? How am I going to write it? What do I want to share? How am I going to share it?
Business goals all listed. What do I want to do? What do I have to accept I cannot do yet? What can I do in the first three months? What is a six-month goal? What is a twelve-month goal? What must be deprioritised beyond those time frames?
Lists of priorities. What activities are must do items? What is important to me? What have I neglected that will make me happy? What isn’t making me happy? What is making me happy but is not achieving anything?
So many things to take into account as I plan out my year. I’ve never been one to be too organised, but I am going to be. My days are going to be regulated and organised. It must be this way if I want to achieve what I want to achieve.
There are going to be big changes and I must prioritise things differently. I’m going to need to get buy-in and support from everyone around me. 2018 is going to be one heck of a ride and I’m taking those who have my back and love me along for the journey.
So, here I sit planning.
As I’m working on this I’m listening to The Greatest Showman soundtrack on Spotify. This song is my favourite of the afternoon.
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
Welcome to 2018, welcome to our journey.
We’re going to achieve amazing things this year. We’re going to bring light and love and healing to our worlds. It’s going to be faebulous, we’re going to be faebulous.
‘Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it’s gonna take
A million dreams for the world we’re gonna make
